Where do you live today, and how did you end up there?
I currently live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
My journey began with "The House of Doors," a fascinating read, weaving together the experiences of Maugham, the revolutionary history of Sun Yat-sen, and the British colonial past to depict a richly diverse Nanyang milieu.
Penang was my first stop.
Yet, I quickly realized that my innate inclination towards social engagements and adventure far exceeded my expectations, ultimately guiding me to KL to embark on a new chapter.
Did you attend university, and if so, what did you study?
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Lancaster University.
Lancaster, which is quite a small city in UK, gave me a unique hobby. I started collecting postcards sent by strangers. It was my way of connecting with the world.
Now, I have over 300 postcards, each a different window to the world.
Do you have any special skills?
I can type in Nüshu, an extraordinary non-material cultural heritage script.
This special script, historically, was used by women in China. I've both learned it and taught it in Thailand.
Plus, we've created a Nüshu community in Wechat!
If you're interested, don’t hesitate to reach out. Our Nüshu community has an impressive portfolio that we’d love to share with you.
What phone app do you use most?
I'm currently obsessed with Google Maps!
Here are my top 5 tips for using Google Maps, particularly the last one, which is a game-changer for digital nomads like us.
Scour Xiaohongshu for the best spots, then get mapping.
Mark hotels in red. It’s quite eye-catching.
Is the day's itinerary set? Number it for straightforward navigation.
Mapping with mates makes planning a breeze.
New to a city? Activate just that day’s map layer. Directions with a tap, saving you time and hassle.
Does my map look interesting?
What are your hobbies, and how did you get into them?
Tennis, it brings a unique mix of serenity and vitality to my days.
And my favorite player, is Jannik Sinner. His skills and spirit on the court are nothing short of inspiring.
I’ve shared about my mindful love for tennis on my friend's podcast. If you’ve got some time, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
